PILCHUCK ACADEMY Lighting Concepts.
A few years back I was asked to teach a course at the Pilchuck Summer Academy. Not being a glass blower I was more than a little reluctant, but surprisingly, without much deliberation I accepted. My role was really one of adding insight and knowledge around industrial manufacture, moving the students beyond common notions of the "one off." In the course of the three weeks I had to produce a project based on the assignments given to the students. These represent my thinking at the time. They use commonly available electrical components thereby maintaining a focus on the material and process itself.
