I have spent my career designing experiences and artifacts all intended to be relevant to those actually experiencing and using them.
Joyous.
Timeless.
Honest.
Poetic.
I don't design for me, but rather the editor, collector, and organizer of disparate information informing the task at hand.
I practice with a constant pursuit and analysis of three-dimensional studies _ using hands to think, making to discover and communicate, touching as a way to understand. My hands become my minds eye.
I believe in continuous user involvement. This way, I hope people will develop an emotional connection that goes beyond only the functional and aesthetic characteristics.
Design becomes a belief, a pursuit, a way of living.
"I started designing at a time when we thought our role in business and work would be making lives better, easier, safer, more enjoyable. We were advocates of the users. Since then, it seems designers mostly want to push around the frosting on the cake as an aesthetic differentiator, pushing design ever closer to art."
